Race Report
Amazing trail marathon, no crazy steep hills and vibes were high. Some runners including myself were made a little nervous by it being overgrown in some places so you couldn’t always see where you were placing your feet, but that’s just trail running no huge deal. Also because the trail was narrower in some places it felt more “U” shaped and it was very tiring on my ankles. But this is the critique. The course overall was amazing and super beautiful. It was hot, and it was a cool year. If the temp was hotter in the future or even the same, ice would have been very nice. I imagine the temps being difficult on newer runners also
Pro Tips for First-Time Racers
Wear sunscreen and try to keep cool. I don’t like GU so I brought my own gels. Enjoy the aid stations and community. It’s a lot of single track, so be mentally prepared to be passing people and have people passing you!
