As the inaugural race in 2025, I felt like the race team did a very commendable job building and bringing in a community feel. I noticed this in both the lead up, via marketing and group training runs, and in the finish line village. I was a little unsure if I would like the course due to the amount of fire road, but actually found it a really fun route.

This was my first trail race, I really enjoyed it, and hope to be back next year.

A gorgeous course that was well spaced at the start and then transitioned to single tracks. A couple very steep uphill climbs with technical downhills to follow. This was my first trail running race and I AM HOOKED! It was a bit tricky to follow the trail at times as it meandered in directions I would not have expected, but they kept the meanders well marked so as long as you were paying attention, you would not have missed any turns. There were also sections on fire roads that I appreciated for the brief reprieve from technical single tracks. Highly recommend this race! I do not know the organizers personally, but I could tell they are passionate about this race and cared a lot about every person who participated.

Really impressed with what they pulled off for the inaugural version of this race. The course had Broken Arrow Skyrace vibes but with fewer people. The first mile was a bit dodgy as it usually is until people spread out but the elevation profile allowed for it to be pretty mellow the first couple of miles until you started the first big climb. And there were climbs! I wish I had used poles because I ended up hiking a lot of the uphill but I also didn't intend to go all out (despite their fun tagline of show up and blow up) and instead took advantage of the amazing views and stopped for several photos and videos along the way. The crowd was mostly advanced runners but without too much competition, we were all out there to have fun. The expo had lots of picnic tables which made it great for hanging out after, but we wished there were one or two more food truck options for those who didn't want BBQ. The raffle prizes were definitely worth sticking around for though! So maybe bring your own picnic next time.

Full of character and community spirit. Course is challenging, with four peaks and a range of trail conditions, from easy wide open fire roads to flowy single track to very technical rocky and steep dirt. Although the advertised distance was 11mi the actual course was just under 13. Mountain Tiger skull for first place winners - amazing! Also tons of great raffle prizes.
