Lake Tahoe Triathlon

The course and actual race itself is beautiful as the bike ride takes you through emerald bay with gorgeous views of tahoe for the majority of the ride, a great place on the lake to swim and a nice but challenging uphill trail run through the forest. The organization and support is severely lacking. If you don't get VIP parking to park near the start you will need to budget riding/walking a mile in or making the shuttle to the start, specatators should anticipate this as well. Packet pickup is at the state park the day before with no other option besides the morning of. This creates a massive backup at the state park entrance the day before and makes it a long way out of the way from either north or south lake just for packet pickup. While it's mostly straight forward the run portion can be poorly signed some years and there is only a midway aid station. After race expo and food is non existent/dissapointing. Results and heavily delayed and have had some accuracy issues with them in the past so use your own device if trying to get accurate times.

Get there earlier than anticipated due to parking and crowded transition zones that hurry you out, paying for VIP parking is worth it.
