Race Report
This was my first female Pro Doubles and it was a good race to do it at. The venue was easy enough to get to, but parking was limited. Once we were parked, it was quick and easy to check-in and drop off our bags. There were plenty of bathrooms, no line. The warm-up area was well organized and not crowded the hour before our race. The other women were friendly, not intimidating, and we felt welcomed. The course was as expected, very organized, except that the corner of the carpet in the sled pull kept coming loose and the woman next to me and I were both pulling on it for our partners who were slipping. Sadly you don't have control over where they put you so we just had to deal with it. The distraction caused us to do an extra sled pull rep (doh!) and we lost ground - a good reminder to keep count because the judges won't do it for you. Only complaints were that the venue needed more food options, but there was a lovely Christmas market right next door that we checked out afterwards.
Race Tips Summary
Bring a gel or some nutrition to have after the row machine because the course only provides water. And be sure to count your own reps so you don't do an extra one like we did!
