Race Report
I had a charity ticket because regular tickets were hard to come by, but it was pretty easy to fundraise the $400 or so dollars for this race and I was happy to do so. Aside from that, sign up and communication was easy and smooth. The race venue was tough for rideshare drivers to drop-off/pick-up, but I believe there was a decent parking garage (albeit not cheap). Check-in was quick, hardly a line, and it was easy to get inside the racing area. Everything was well organized, good warm-up area, and on time. The course was as expected, except station 8 (wall balls) entry was on the other side so your last running lap was roughly 2.3 laps long. Most other female open competitors were nice and friendly, only a couple unnecessary shoulder bumps and cut offs, but there are always a few bad apples. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and looking forward to doing it again!
Pro Tips for First-Time Racers
It's VERY loud near the finish line. If you have spectators, I'd recommend that they bring ear plugs or headphones, especially if they are older or if you have younger children with you. As a racer, I'd recommend having at least one nutrition item on you to take during the race, usually right before/after the row machine. Also, food options were disappointingly limited, so perhaps bring your own or be prepared to go outside the venue.
