This was my second Spartan DEKA events, first Doubles, first podium! I like that you never really know where you stand so you have to push the entire time. It's a fast, tough race, with high intensity but great community. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, no matter your ability level. The course was well laid out. They are always a little bit lacking for volunteers, but the ones that were there were great. I did have a hard time finding water, and there were not many, if any, food options inside the venue aside from a cafe stand - but thankfully you have BBQ and great restaurants just a short walk outside. This is a great destination race to check out Austin!
